The Salam Scouts badge program is designed to guide scouts on a journey of growth, discovery, and service. Through a combination of Core Badges, Spark Badges and Quest Badges scouts will:
- Develop their character and build strong moral foundations
- Learn life skills in leadership, responsibility, and teamwork
- Connect with their faith and community, fostering purpose and confidence
- Explore unique interests through optional, specialized activities
Our badge system ensures that every scout experiences the essentials of Salam Scouts while also having the freedom to explore their passions.
Core Badges: The Foundation of Salam Scouts
Core Badges form the heart of the program. These are the essential badges that every scout completes to advance through their scouting journey.
Purpose of Core Badges:
- Build social, mental, and spiritual development
- Teach essential skills in leadership, teamwork, and personal growth
- Strengthen faith and community connections
Core badges are completed as part of the troop’s regular curriculum. Each meeting is structured to help scouts:
- Gain meaningful experiences
- Build a solid foundation of skills and values
- Advance together as a troop, sharing a journey of achievement
By completing Core Badges, every scout fulfills the core mission of Salam Scouts-to grow as a confident, responsible, and faith-driven individual.
Spark Badges: Optional Add-On Adventures
In addition to the required Core Badges, scouts have the opportunity to earn Spark Badges-optional, specialized badges that enrich their journey.
What are Spark Badges?
- Optional add-ons for scouts who want to explore extra skills, knowledge, or experiences
- Flexible in duration – some can be earned in one meeting, while others may take multiple sessions
- Specialized and unique, covering areas like community service, creative skills, outdoor adventure, or Islamic reflection
Purpose of Spark Badges:
- Encourage Exploration – Allow scouts to follow their interests beyond the core program
- Provide Extra Challenge – Offer opportunities for motivated scouts to excel
- Celebrate Personalized Growth – Each scout’s journey can be unique and memorable
Spark Badges are not required but are a special way for scouts to go above and beyond. They add excitement, depth, and personal choice to the Salam Scouts experience.

Quest Badges: Discover. Explore. Lead.
Quest Badges are our outdoor adventure program designed to help scouts of all ages develop confidence, self-reliance, and a deep appreciation for the natural world. Through progressive skill-building, hands-on experiences, and environmental stewardship, scouts learn to prepare for camp, enjoy safe and responsible outdoor adventures, and grow as leaders in the field.
Each badge combines five key areas:
- Outdoor Safety and Readiness
- Campcraft Skills
- Environmental Stewardship
- Adventure and Exploration
- Leadership and Reflection.
Scouts progress through increasingly challenging requirements, gaining practical abilities, teamwork experience, and an enduring respect for nature.
